Lisa Steele
Lisa is based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and oversees all FLM operations in the U.S. and Honduras. She brings many years of experience in nonprofit management, communications, and ministry to Family Life Missions, as well as a passion for Latino culture and for serving others. Lisa has served as Executive Director of Carpenter’s Square, a faith-based organization serving the multicultural community of South Nashville and also spent several years as the Assistant Dean of Intercultural Development at Lipscomb University serving Latino, African American, and international students. Before Lipscomb, she was on staff at Antioch Church of Christ where she served as Director of Latino and Outreach Ministry. Fluent in Spanish, Lisa has a passion for serving the Latino community both in the U.S. and in Central America and has conducted workshops and spoken nationally on cultural competency. She has participated in mission trips to Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Belize, and Mexico. Lisa has a Bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb in Communications and French and a Master’s degree in Civic Leadership. Besides Spanish, she is fluent in French, competent in German, and has studied Arabic. Lisa believes that every child is deserving of a loving family with Christ at the center. She has been married to Mark since 1983, and they have two married adult children and four grandchildren..
