Our Values
Our Programs
Since 1994, Family Life Missions (FLM) has served vulnerable children and families in Catacamas, Honduras. What began as a Christian children's home has grown into a comprehensive, family-centered ministry dedicated to helping children thrive in safe, loving families.
As more children were successfully reunited with their biological families, we recognized that preventing family separation is often even more powerful than responding after it occurs. Our programs have evolved to reflect one simple conviction: the best place for a child is in a healthy family whenever possible. Today, every ministry at FLM is designed to strengthen families, equip local churches, and create lasting hope for future generations.

Sharing What God Has Taught Us
As Family Life Missions has grown, God has opened doors for us to encourage other ministries around the world. Since 2020, FLM has become recognized as a leader in family restoration and Christian foster care. In 2026, organizations from Ghana, Kenya, Mexico, Honduras, and the United States visited our campus through the Thrive Cohort to learn from our experience in strengthening families and caring for vulnerable children.
That same year, FLM became a strategic partner in the Agape Care Alliance, a global network of Christian organizations committed to helping more children experience the safety, belonging, and permanence of family. Today, our team actively mentors ministries seeking to transition toward family-based care.
We envision communities where hope, health, and stability define everyday life, with the local church leading the way. Whether through family preservation, foster care, education, counseling, entrepreneurship, or global mentoring, every program exists to help children and families experience the love of Christ and the security of family.
Our History
Take a walk through our journey from founding to modern organizational reforms.
Establishing Our Foundations
Since 1994 Family Life Missions (FLM) has served vulnerable children and families in Catacamas, Honduras.
Founded as a Christian residential home for children whose biological families could not care for them, FLM has grown to provide Family Preservation, Foster Care, and a nationally recognized Christian Bilingual School open to the community. We also offer trauma-informed therapy for children who have been through difficult situations in our Comprehensive Care Center.
Adapting to Family Contexts
In 1997, Family Life Missions moved from one home to a village of four residential homes called Por Los Niños that provided loving houseparents for children in a family setting.
As more children have been successfully reintegrated with their biological families, placed with FLM foster families, or adopted, we no longer needed our residential home. In response, we have expanded our focus to Family Preservation. Through our Building Dreams and Loving Others home improvement programs and Inspiring Hope entrepreneurship program, our staff partners with donors, Honduran churches, and churches in the United States. Together, we equip vulnerable families with the tools, resources, and support they need to build safe, stable, and hope-filled futures.
National Leadership & Trauma Integration
Working with the Honduran government, our Foster Care program is one of the first to be accredited in the country.
We recruit families from local churches and provide intensive foster care training. Abandoned or abused children under five years go directly into these loving, Christian homes.
At FLM, we strive to meet each child’s spiritual, emotional, intellectual, psychological, and social needs. Helping families stay together with the right tools and resources can give children and families a hand-up instead of a handout.
Everything we do at FLM centers on our mission to transform the lives of children and families while maintaining our vision that hope, health, and stability define the community, with the church leading the way.
