Lisa Steele
Chief Executive Officer
Lisa provides strategic direction and vision for Family Life Missions, connecting the U.S. Board of Directors with leadership in Honduras and overseeing the organization’s work in both countries. She brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit management, ministry, communications, and cross-cultural engagement. Fluent in Spanish, Lisa has a deep love for Honduras and a passion for strengthening families and helping children thrive in safe, loving homes. She holds a Master’s degree in Civic Leadership and has served with FLM since 2019.

National Director

With extensive experience serving vulnerable children, he is a certified practitioner in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), Trauma Competent Care, and Soul Care™ and is completing a degree in theology. José is deeply committed to strengthening families and helping children experience the safety, stability, and belonging of a permanent family.

Karla leads the development of FLM’s programs in Honduras, bringing extensive experience in psychology, education, nonprofit administration, and serving vulnerable children and families. She is also a certified practitioner in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®). She holds degrees in elementary education, psychology, and social psychology, with a focus on advocacy and interventions for vulnerable children. Karla is passionate about developing comprehensive programs that demonstrate God’s love, hope, and grace while helping children and families thrive.

Karla Ponce
Director of Programs

Elizabeth Shrum
Director of US Operations and Marketing
Elizabeth supports FLM’s U.S. operations and leads marketing and communications, helping strengthen donor and partner relationships and share FLM’s story. With degrees in Spanish and education and more than three decades of experience, she brings a strong cross-cultural perspective to her work. After first serving with FLM in Honduras as a translator and mission team leader, Elizabeth developed a deep connection to the mission and a passion for sharing stories of God’s faithfulness.

Elizabeth Shrum

Coordinator of Comprehensive Care and Social Worker
Carmen serves as Coordinator of FLM’s Comprehensive Care Center and as a social worker, supporting the care and protection of children and families across our programs. With a degree in Social Work and additional studies in child advocacy and children’s rights, she previously worked with Honduras Children’s Services in child protection, family reintegration, and safe placements. Carmen is committed to helping Honduran children and families experience hope, healing, and healthy relationships.

Eduard leads the administrative and accounting functions for FLM in Honduras, bringing more than 15 years of experience as a trained Commercial Expert and Public Accountant. Serving with FLM since 2019, he is committed to honesty, transparency, and excellence in supporting the organization’s mission. Eduard has a heart for serving the children and families of Honduras—and is known for always serving with a smile!

Wilson Moradel
Community Spiritual Coordinator
Wilson leads spiritual development across FLM’s programs, staff, and school, builds relationships with local churches to strengthen foster care and family support, and leads mission teams serving through our Building Dreams program. With over 16 years of pastoral ministry experience, he is completing his theology studies and brings a deep commitment to serving vulnerable children and families. Wilson is passionate about helping children grow spiritually and understand their God-given purpose while equipping families to build a strong foundation of faith.

Wilson Moradel
Community Spiritual Coordinator
Wilson leads spiritual development across FLM’s programs, staff, and school, builds relationships with local churches to strengthen foster care and family support, and leads mission teams serving through our Building Dreams program. With over 16 years of pastoral ministry experience, he is completing his theology studies and brings a deep commitment to serving vulnerable children and families. Wilson is passionate about helping children grow spiritually and understand their God-given purpose while equipping families to build a strong foundation of faith.

Nilda Karolina Lara
Head of School, PLN Christian School
Nilda serves as Head of School at Por Los Niños Christian School, where she began her FLM journey as a teacher. She holds a degree in foreign languages with a focus on teaching English and is pursuing a master’s degree in Design, Management, and Project Management with International Cooperation. Nilda is passionate about leading and encouraging students and educators while creating an environment where children can grow academically, spiritually, and personally.

Nilda serves as Head of School at Por Los Niños Christian School, where she began her FLM journey as a teacher. She holds a degree in foreign languages with a focus on teaching English and is pursuing a master’s degree in Design, Management, and Project Management with International Cooperation. Nilda is passionate about leading and encouraging students and educators while creating an environment where children can grow academically, spiritually, and personally.

Germán teaches multiple subjects at Por Los Niños Christian School, bringing more than 20 years of experience in Christian bilingual education. Born and raised in Catacamas, he is committed to equipping students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed and contribute to their community. Germán sees teaching as an opportunity to demonstrate God’s love and help children grow academically, personally, and spiritually.

Jandy Cristabel Tome Zuniga
Teacher, PLN Christian School
Jandy serves as a Montessori Teacher-Guide at Por Los Niños Christian School, bringing experience in early childhood and language education to the classroom. She holds a degree in Teaching English and Chinese as Foreign Languages and has taught students in both traditional and Montessori settings. Jandy loves working with children and believes that quality education grounded in God’s love has the power to transform lives and communities.

Samantha Hernández
Teacher, PLN Christian School
Samantha teaches Spanish at Por Los Niños Christian School and serves as coordinator of the school library, combining her love of teaching with a passion for reading. She holds a degree in Basic Education and is continuing her studies in Child Pedagogy and Cognitive Development. Fluent in English, Samantha is passionate about helping students develop a love of learning and the skills and confidence they need to grow.

Samantha Hernández
Teacher, PLN Christian School
Samantha teaches Spanish at Por Los Niños Christian School and serves as coordinator of the school library, combining her love of teaching with a passion for reading. Marlon Fabricio Escobar
Teacher, PLN Christian School
Marlon brings a lifelong passion for music, art, and athletics to his work teaching music and sports at Por Los Niños Christian School. An accomplished saxophonist, he performs with orchestras in Honduras and serves as a musical director for bands, bringing professional experience and creativity to his students. Marlon is passionate about encouraging students to develop their God-given abilities with effort, discipline, and faith.

Noelia teaches mathematics at Por Los Niños Christian School while pursuing her degree in mathematics at the National Pedagogical University. With a natural talent and love for numbers, she is passionate about helping students build strong math skills, confidence, and a love of learning. Noelia considers teaching her God-given calling and strives to guide her students with patience, encouragement, and care.
