Trauma-informed services
Healing from trauma requires more than meeting physical needs. Children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or family instability also need safe relationships, emotional support, and compassionate care.
Since 2018, Family Life Missions' Comprehensive Care Center has provided trauma-informed services that help children and families heal and thrive. Our multidisciplinary team is trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), an evidence-informed approach grounded in brain science and reinforced by timeless biblical principles. We believe that loving, consistent, and attentive relationships are essential for every child's healthy development.

Providing comprehensive care
Our Comprehensive Care Center serves children in our Family Preservation, Foster Care, and Family Reintegration programs, providing individualized support through counseling, trauma therapy, play therapy, and group sessions. We also walk alongside parents and caregivers, equipping them with the tools and encouragement they need to build stronger, healthier families.
Beyond serving our own families, we are helping strengthen child welfare across Honduras. Our staff regularly trains professionals from other organizations, churches, and community partners, expanding access to trauma-informed care for vulnerable children.
Educating The Community
In 2022, Family Life Missions co-hosted the first Latin American Conference on Vulnerable Childhood, bringing together more than 350 participants to learn from international experts on trauma, attachment, and resilience.
In 2026, our professional team continued this commitment by hosting specialized training in sand box therapy for psychologists from Catacamas and Tegucigalpa, further strengthening trauma care throughout the region. By caring for children's emotional, psychological, spiritual, and relational needs, we are helping them experience lasting hope, healing, and the opportunity to flourish.
