Because of You—Hope Took Root and Lives Were Changed in 2025

As we come to the close of this year, we pause with grateful hearts to reflect on what God has done through Family Life Missions—and how your partnership made it possible.

Because of you, 120 children attended our Por los Niños Christian School this year, representing a 12% increase over last year. Even more meaningful, 96 families met monthly through our parent engagement program, gaining tools to become stronger parents and to help their children succeed academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Through our Foster Care Program, nine children have been placed into loving foster families—families recruited from local churches, carefully trained by our team, and fully accredited by the Honduran government. We also celebrated a beautiful milestone as one child was adopted into a permanent Honduran family, where he is now growing, thriving, and deeply loved.

This year, our Comprehensive Care Center served 113 children and 42 families, providing holistic care that meets families where they are. This care includes trauma therapy, parenting and life-skills classes, play therapy, and individual spiritual guidance—helping children and families heal, grow, and move forward with renewed hope.

Every staff member at Family Life Missions has been trained in  TBRI® (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), and three of our staff members are certified trainers.

Through our Family Preservation Program, we served 53 children and assisted 27 families, helping families remain safely together. Included in this work were six families in our Building Dreams program, where unsafe homes were renovated—or entirely rebuilt. These projects flow through local churches and unite Honduran construction workers, U.S. mission teams, local church members, and Family Life Missions staff. Families actively participate in the building process, restoring not only their homes, but also dignity, safety, and stability.

We also walked alongside six families through our Inspiring Hope Entrepreneurship Program. After completing training, each family received $100 in seed money and developed a business plan with ongoing support. Families like Luisa’s, Cindy’s, Rossy’s, and others can now better provide their children with food, clothing, and education. Economic sustainability has truly changed the trajectory of their lives.

All of this work is grounded in strong relationships. We are grateful to partner with 53 local churches in Honduras and 20 partner churches in the United States, working together to care for vulnerable children and families.

Scripture reminds us what happens when hope takes root:

“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”
—Psalm 1:3 (NIV)

As we look ahead to the coming year, the needs remain great—but so does the hope. Your year-end gift helps ensure that children continue to receive education, that families receive healing and support, that homes are restored, and that parents gain the tools they need to provide a better future for their children.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. Your generosity is changing lives—one child, one family, one community at a time.

With deep gratitude,

Lisa Steele

P.S. A gift made or postmarked by December 31 is tax-deductible for this year. Your year-end generosity helps ensure children and families in Honduras continue to receive education, healing, and hope in the year ahead.

Thank you for giving before the year closes!
